Brand Storytelling on Social Media
and why it matters
WHAT IS A BRAND STORY?
Storytelling is how humans communicate ideas, share experiences and learn and grow our opinions – brand storytelling is no different.
At its root, a brand story is what that creates connections with your audience, it’s what sets you apart from your competitors and impacts many aspects of your marketing plan.
You are in the drivers seat of how your brand is perceived and what story gets told, so we organized some ideas on how to navigate social media with your brands story in mind.
HOW TO BEST SHARE YOUR STORY ON SOCIAL MEDIA...
Be Original
Having a good story isn't quite enough if it doesn't capture the attention of your audience in one concise, fair swoop. Visual content is a great way to not only capture attention, but also to tell your story effectively.
The colors you choose, the way you photograph your product, what types of videos you create and any other content pieces you choose to share are an important piece of the storytelling plan, so be intentional!
Listen to your Audience
Your team is not the only piece of the storytelling puzzle, your audience is constantly telling you what they want, what is missing and how to connect with them, all you have to do is listen and listen well!
And Chat With Them
Through interacting with your audience and your online community through comments, messages and other meaningful forms of engagement, you can continuously develop your brand voice, and interact in real-time to turn followers into brand-loyalists, reminding them there are real, trusting people behind a product and brand.
Lean into UCG
Through UGC you can analyze what is resonating with your audience and then evaluate your content plan to better connect with those watching your story unfold.
You can also leverage your UGC as testimonials to help build trust with viewers who may be on the fence about buying into your story, further elevating brand recall.
And Lastly, Be Authentic
Your story is unique to you and your following will appreciate it if there's honesty at the core. Avoid the urge to jump on trends and remain true to your identity. People know when they are being sold to or when a brand isn’t being true, so stick with what you know and be real- the right consumer base will find you, we promise!
